Posting a preprint is encouraged and is not prior publication. The exception: a manuscript that has already been formally published elsewhere — in a journal or as a proceedings paper of record — is prior publication and we will not consider it. A preprint server, an institutional repository and a thesis are not formal publication. Authors may post before, during and after review, and should add the DOI and citation once published. Preprint posting has no bearing on our editorial decision.
