Open access statement

The statement

Every journal published by Avloryn Publications is a fully open access journal. All content is freely available without charge to the reader or their institution, immediately on publication. There is no subscription, no paywall, no registration requirement and no embargo period of any kind.

Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full text, crawl the articles for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of open access.

Copyright stays with the author

Authors retain copyright in their own work. We do not ask for a transfer of copyright and we never will. Authors grant us a licence to publish the article and to keep it published — nothing more. The full terms are in our licensing and copyright policy.

The licence

Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Anyone may share and adapt the work, including commercially, provided the original authors are credited. The licence is stated on every article.

⚠ We do not publish under an "all rights reserved" notice, and we do not use licences that forbid commercial use or adaptation. Those restrictions are incompatible with open access as we understand it.

What it costs to read, and to publish

Reading costs nothing, ever. Publishing in Volume 1 of a new journal also costs nothing. What a journal charges after that, and when the rate that applies to you is fixed, is set out in full on our fees and waivers page — including who can have a fee waived.

Repository deposit

Because authors keep copyright and the licence is CC BY 4.0, an author may deposit any version of their article — submitted, accepted or published — in an institutional or subject repository of their choice, at any time and without asking us. There is no embargo.
